What is Nordic Skiing?
Nordic skiing, also known as cross-country skiing (ski de fond in French, Langlauf in German), is a form of skiing where skiers propel themselves across snow-covered terrain using their own power. Unlike alpine skiing, nordic skiing uses lighter equipment and allows the heel to move freely, enabling a natural striding motion.
